POMONA, Calif., Jan. 2, 2007 -- Across the country, Keystone Automotive Industries (Nasdaq:KEYS) locations have been reaching out and giving back to their local communities. From toy and food drives to parts donations, Keystone Team Members brought much needed cheer to the less fortunate this holiday season.
In Madison, WI, Keystone joined efforts with Akzo Nobel to provide the gift of reliable transportation. Through its donation of several parts, Keystone helped local shop Drevdahl Auto Body repair a car which was then given to a person in need. "This was a great project," said Keystone General Manager, Myron Kargel. "We were thrilled to help provide someone with a dependable vehicle."
Joining efforts with the United State Marine Corps Reserve, Keystone's Largo, FL location participated in the Toys for Tots Program. Together, Keystone customers and Team Members collected over 300 new toys which went to needy children this Christmas. General Manager, Dennis Albrecht said he was "very grateful to have the opportunity to participate in such a worthy cause and to assist the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in an effort with such a strong community focus."
Keystone's Saranac, MI branch held a week-long food drive and collected 1,100 pounds of food. This amounted to a months worth of food for Barrie's House, a local home which assists up to 42 families in need. According to General Manager Lisa Warren Reese, "We really wanted to do something to support those having a difficult time right now. It meant a lot to us and we were happy to help."
